However, I have another question that might be more answerable. How do you deal with big splits of the party in real time, or just at your table in general? Film just allows people to go on individual side quests and ties them together later, but I don't know how that plays out in a game. I think some players don't pay attention if their character isn't in a scene, etc.
Also I just started trying to use python to make something akin to your computer voice ai thing, got speech recognition (google currently) and text to speech going on. Used wikipedia module, but unfortunately I don't have any good way of parsing (NLTK is next on the list of stuff to look at). So if I say "search wikipedia for box" it searches for "search for box". I could write some regex stuff to parse but I feel like that's a fool's errand. I'm curious where the interpretive part of the ai comes in, because ideally I'd like it to be able to execute arbitrary functions in the script.
Just letting you know, I have ADHD so it takes a while for me to actually _do_ things, but today I took the case off my laptop and reassembled it, and there doesn't appear, to the naked eye, to be any damage to any connections, so I have no idea why my webcam isn't working. Maybe one day I'll buy a separate one.
"GM PC", or maybe, GM NPC is the term you're looking for (an NPC that the gm plays almost as a character, usually a term of derision because the GM never lets it die, or something like that).

Usually, the guys role-play guys or aliens (that look like guys). The girls role-play girls. The referee does all of the above.
