Tabletop Part IV: Pacing

4 comments:

  1. May I humbly offer my episode of what I considered a difficult pacing task; the party split up with fast paced action happening in both locations. I particularly like how my enthusiasm helped keep the players engaged during the race with only one pc involved. and he quit after this session because who knows why. He was kind of a stick in the mud anyways; https://youtu.be/SjRt0RYMM_I

    1. Some people really prefer to be part of the audience instead of one of the players, unfortunately.

  2. But when you have the player's attention it shows in subtle ways. While an outsider may say about my above listed session that it doesn't really have any pacing. But as an active participant in the game I know they were on edge at the right times. I thought I also handled a party getting split apart pretty well for three hours.

    1. You did. I've been in games like that where players are all tensed up, even if it looks like nothing is really happening in the game to an outsider.
